I'm back with another Just Add Ink Challenge today! This week we have an inspiration image suggested by Kim!
I'll be honest, I wasn't totally sure what to do with this image. I don't have any of the current tree stamp sets so I had to dig out an old set and use it with a bit of a twist!
I've never really been a traditional Christmas colour scheme kind of girl and I like to mix it up a little. My tree set was perfect for a more contemporary style so I used more bold colours Poppy Parade, Coastal Cabana and Lemon Lime Twist with a Crumb Cake base.
Another inspiration came from a team meeting I attended at the end of October when my upline (and fellow JAI Design Team buddy) Di Barnes showed me this beautiful technique with the new/old shimmer paints which I used on my three trees. Using my Stamparatus I stamped the same colour tree on to the same colour cardstock, restamped it in Versamark and then embossed the image in clear embossing powder. The I used a sponge dauber to apply the Frost White shimmer paint to each punched tree and the shimmer paint wipes off where the embossing is. It leaves a stunning effect on the cardstock so I do hope you try it! I tried to photograph it below but they don't do the card any justice!
To finish the card I popped the trees on mini dimensionals and added some washi tape and silver ribbon and a little sentiment in the corner.
